From the legendary Isaac Hayes’ disco period, the sleeve image alone – Hayes surrounded by five topless ladies in a swimming pool – is worth the entry fee. As he moved out from his infamous laboured love monologues to an elongated set of dancefloor-friendly mixes, this seven tracker sees him at a halfway house of lengthy disco grooves and funky bass lines peppered with his slower sounds on a couple of the cuts. Hayes’ vocal isn’t as deep on the uptempo numbers but throughout this long out of print album from his Hot Buttered Soul label just catches the infectious feel of deep soul from a man who certainly had all the moves
