A classic 1964 album from the Muddy Waters’ piano player who accompanied Waters through the ‘50s and ‘60s while taking time to record several solo albums before his untimely death, aged 40, in the ‘70s. Otis Spann’s crisp piano playing inspired many a ‘60s band who’d been brought up on the blues. With some of Waters’ backing band in tow on this session, he lets the good time feel roll behind his gloriously soulful vocal on these bar room tunes that include ‘Dust My Broom’ and the awesome ‘Must Have Been The Devil’.
