A bizarre and strange concept album from 1981 that deals with prostitution and delivered Rick James his biggest hit Super Freak. Straight from the disco boom with his legendary dress sense, brushes with authority and paparazzi-exposed lifestyle, James wrapped the whole experience up in Street Songs and was scarily close to the truth on this classic album. Within the set, there’s also a staggering live show, recorded in Long Beach in 1981 around the time of Street Songs’ release.
