Produced by Jimmy Miller (who also delivered the Stones Exile On Main Street) Spooky Two was a landmark album in 1969, signalling a move away from RnB and psyche pop to a more thoughtful, elongated, album-styled approach to music. Gary Wright’s virtuosity and Luther Grosvenor’s guitar playing took Two to new dimensions and the Island family added the lines of Stevie Winwood to sessions as this classic album grew into a groundbreaking mix of keyboard driven rock that touched on Sabbath at times.
